That’s Right! Video is here to stay – for a long while. And if you are not yet using video to promote your website or blog, shame on you. What is holding you back?

There are many ways to “do” video. Use a simple Flip camera on a tripod. Use Power Point slides and then make a video of them using Jing, a free screen-capture video software. Another way is to use a webcam. The one I use, a Microsoft Life Cam is a fantastic webcam, offering many nice options.

Here are some resources for you to get the juices flowing to start doing video. You can submit them to YouTube and then use a free Firefox plugin called PixelPipe to syndicate your video to about 15 other video sites.

PixelPipe – Free Video Uploader to 15+ Video Sites

I discovered a real nifty free video uploader about 2 months ago. I belong to Social Media Science’s Synnd membership, and they are coming out with a super video uploader with commenting and voting, but until that happens, I am real happy with PixelPipe.

For those of you spending $97 or more per month on Traffic Geyser, Pixelpipe doesn’t do what TG does, but at least it does a very nice job for no cash outlay. One of the most important things for video marketing is getting your videos up on the web as quickly as possible. When I had a Traffic Geyser membership, it was nice, but it took me a lot longer to configure a video than it does in Pixelpipe.

One of the neatest provisions of Pixelpipe is an awesome Firefox plugin that lets you easily drag and drop a video into the plugin and within 3 minutes you are hitting the upload button.

I am really into video right now being on my 7th video of the 90 day video challenge. I need all the speed I can get with uploading videos, so PixelPipe is coming in real handy. Check out my video below. I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 – and my effects are a little rough, but they will start looking better and better.

Here’s a few interesting articles about Video Uploads:

Boost Your Traffic with a 90-Day Video Challenge

I caught wind of this today – a 90 day video challenge.  And the more I thought about it the more excited I became. Is is this easy to do, a video every day? Absolutely not. But is this also easy NOT to do, too? Yep! So I have a choice to make. Don’t do the challenge – or embrace the idea and “go for it!”

I decided to “go for it!” Here’s a video of me on my FIRST DAY!

As far as I know it is Mia Davies who started this challenge. She also has a Facebook group that is all about the 90 day video challenge. I encourage you to visit her blog and find out what other people are doing.

Here are the basic guidelines and some benefits from embarking on a 3 month challenge like this. The experience you gain from doing this and completing the 90 days is going to be life-changing. I thank Mia for the following:

  • You improve your ability to connect
  • You improve your ability to communicate a message powerfully
  • You improve your ability to express yourself and your ideas
  • You get your message to many people at one time
  • You start to accept and maybe even “like” yourself :)
  • You become more comfortable in your day to day interaction
  • You become more comfortable and confident in public speaking
  • You become more efficient in your speaking and communicating
  • And you will become much more proficient at quickly making videos.

Here Are the Simple Rules of the Challenge

  • Make a video every single day and post it to your YouTube channel, FB or any other location you like.
  • Keep your videos under 2 minutes
  • Share something that helps people or makes a difference for them. Either something you learned or experience or a challenge you overcame.
  • Have a call to action at the end of your videos to click a link to rate, comment or subscribe!
  • If you take this challenge on I promise you will see miracles in your life and your business in the next 30 days!!

7 Killer Steps-“How To Video Blog” & Generate Boatloads of MLM Leads

j0438906This article about how to video blog  assumes that you know how to use a Flip video camera or some other brand like JVC or Sony. It would also help if you have a screen capture program, like Camtasia or Jing. We will explore here keys on how to video blog and specifically how to generate leads for your MLM business.

Step 1. Determine a subject, and do some basic keyword analysis. Just for fun lets pick on the mother of all network marketing companies – Amway. Amway is a great company that does billions of dollars in sales every year. You want to go to Google’s External Keyword tool (it’s free) and do a search on Amway. Save all the keywords in a text file. We’ll use this later.

Step 2. Write a real compelling headline. It won’t do you any good to make a nice video that doesn’t get seen. So come up with an interesting, almost shocking headline. “Is Amway a Scam?” is an excellent headline. Even if you are involved in Amway, you can still use this headline. Another headline example is “4 Killer Steps to (what you are teaching.)”

Step 3. Record your video and have 2 or 3 key points that you concentrate on. If you are shooting a live “talking” video, write your bullet points with magic marker on a white paper. Tape this right under the camera and as close to the lens as possible.

Keep your video between 90 seconds long, and a maximum of 2 minutes. If you love to talk, do your best to cut it short. You’ll get the hang of it as you do more and more videos.

Step 4. Have a clear Call To Action. This is usually at the end. If you are wanting to generate some MLM leads, this would be a good place to say something like “OK, now click on the link to the right of this video. Enter your name and email to receive our FREE 7 day video marketing course. You can download the first course instantly.”

If you don’t have a free course to offer them, I can show you how you can have a course like that on your own blog. It is really cool. You’ll make about money each time someone goes through the free course and then buys an “up-sell.” They also end up on your list as another lead.

Step 5. You’ll want to edit your video in Windows Movie Maker. Make sure the beginning and end look good. Think through your beginning. Are you going to have a music background? And this is real important. Add your website URL on the bottom part of the video, across the screen in white. Insert it so it is visible for the whole video.

Step 6. Submit your video to You Tube. This is where you use those Amway keywords that you saved before. Dump all these keyword in the spot for “Tags” on You Tube. This will help get your video ranked a lot quicker. Next, add your video to your blog. This is simple to do by clicking on the little “add video” icon. You then enter the You Tube URL.

You have to be making or editing a post to be able to do this. There are also a number of WordPress video plugins, like FLV Embed or Flash Video Player that may make it easier to load videos to your blog.

Step 7. Rinse and repeat. Do this video blog every day or every other day, and you’ll be amazed at the added traffic to your blog and your money site.
