  3. Really useful 6 minute video from +martin shervington with some great tips
on how to put together an effective On-Air Google Hangout.

I’ll be using these tips the next time I setup a Hangout!

  4. Thought folks in this group would find this interesting – this video tells
you how to create a Google+ Hangout on Air, integrate it with a Google+
Event page, and then post your hangout on YouTube for future views/shares.
    Enjoy!

  5. Useful for everyone who needs to work LIVE in YouTube.
Ideas are 2many, hope you all can use these advices and find it really
    useful for your business.
Thanks to my Good Friend +martin shervington, try to share more videos of
    him.

  6. *How to plan a Hangout On Air, in advance, and run it.*

Now that a “HOA or Hangout on Air” is no more a simple Hangout that you
broadcast on air (they are started each through different methods),
planning a HOA in advance is a bit tricky. The process is a bit irrational,
and requires some acrobatic sports when you are live and broadcasting and
can’t be prepared in advance, but works fine.
In fact, you’ll notice that for this purpose you’ll never start a Hangout
nor plan one. You plan an “Event” and independently of that event, at the
time of the event, you start a “HOA” and by copy/pasting the Youtube URL
from the live HOA into the Event attributes, you link the two objects.

    Details here:

    1) Plan it:
From the G+ home page, left side menu: *EVENTS*
then “Plan a Hangout” “Create Event”
then in the event dialog box, Event Options / Advanced / Make this event on
    Air ( Hangouts gets deactivated)
Fill in any desired field, include under *To* who you want to invite, and
press the green *INVITE* button on the lower left corner of the dialog box.

    2) Run it:
A few minutes (or more) prior to the live event, start a Hangout on Air:
From the G+ home page, left side menu: *Hangouts on Air*
Scroll down until you see on the lower right corner a big blue button *
“Start a Hangout on Air” *
    Invite your participants.
    Start Broadcasting
At this point it will give you a Youtube URL and an embed code.
    Copy the Youtube URL.
    Leave your Hangout open.
In another Tab go back to the event page, and EDIT the event.
Then under Event Options/ Advanced/Show additional Fields/ paste the
Youtube URL in the Youtube URL field and save the edited event.

Comments are welcome in particular by my friends expert +Ronnie Bincer and
    +martin shervington .

And BTW, Martin explains this very well, much better than me, in this
video, which was made before the new Hangouts, but the process is a bit
more unusual with the new release, given the clear distinction between a
    Hangout and an HOA.

If anyone there has a more elegant way to do it, i would love to learn.

  7. *Hangouts on Air, Events and YouTube*

    Broadcast, countdown
Blue boxing and point about people muting themselves if not
    Post event:
The video will appear on your YouTube channel

  9. There are some very, very neat walkthroughs about miscellaneous Google
goodness available by +martin shervington – like this one about HOAs. Watch
it, read my Happy Hangouts Check List http://bit.ly/HappyHangouts and you
have pretty much covered all bases!

  10. Hi Martin, your videos help me understand G+ and Hangouts – fantastic as am
learning as I go… My questions may also need me going to Plus Your
Business community – basically 1)I have several gmail accounts and
inadvertently I clicked to join Google+ on several of them – now how to I
bring them all pointing to one G+? 2) I have two You Tube channels – lets
say I want to hold Hangouts on Air for each of them on different
    topics…how to do that?

  11. Perfect question for the PYB community Caryl! Could you drop it in there
and we can take a look? Thanks, M

  12. *Wanna Set up an Event in G+ and Do a Google Hangout on Air?*
Through trial and error, I’ve figured out how to do this, but here’s an
excellent video that walks you through these steps: How to create a
hangout-on-air, integrate with a Google+ event and set it up on YouTube
    afterwards

  13. Hi Martin, Great video – thanks for explaining it in simple terms. I have a
question: If you want to send an invitation to people who are not on
Google+, do you just send the YouTube link to them? And is it only the
people on Google+ who can use the new question feature? Thanks again!

  14. Great question Lise! Could I ask you to drop it into the Plus Your Business
community as this way more people will learn? Thanks, Martin
